Olivia Chute is Going to Junior World's!

August 2nd to 5th, 2018

Waterski and Wakeboard Nova Scotia is proud to announce that Olivia Chute of Fall River, NS has been selected to represent Canada at the 2018 World Junior Waterski Championships in Toledo, Spain.  At 14, Olivia will be the youngest member of a six person team from across Canada.  Olivia has benefitted from the tremendous network of waterskiers and coaches in Nova Scotia and wants to send a special thank you to Claudia Currie and

Brody Newton for the coaching, advice and guidance they have given her. Olivia has also benefitted from high-level training and coaching in Florida with Canadians Drew Ross, Neilly Ross and Jaret Llewellyn.  “To be able to represent Canada on the international stage doing what I love most is a huge honour,” says Olivia.  “I dreamed this day would come but never imagined it would come so soon!”

Olivia currently holds the Girls U14 (under 14) provincial records in both trick skiing and slalom skiing.  She has won gold medals in trick skiing and silver medals in slalom skiing at Canadian Nationals in 2016 and again in 2017.  She has previously represented Canada internationally at PanAm Waterski Championships in 2016 and at CanAms in 2017 but this will be her biggest tournament yet.  “I feel so fortunate to have this opportunity.  The support of my friends, family and the Canadian waterski community has been tremendous.  I look forward to a great experience which will surely help me on my journey to be the best athlete and waterskier I can be.”
